How does English Language Coaching work?
If you have any questions about how our service works please feel free to e-mail us or alternatively for a more detailed explantion of our system we can arrange a free 30 minute consultation. However, for a general idea of what we do please read the following:
Personal Coaching and Online Coaching: Our service basically consists of two approaches; Personal Coaching and Online Coaching. Both approaches involve the client working one-on-one with their own personal language coach who will guide, motivate and instruct them towards a more advanced level of English.
Our programs: Within both of our two approaches, we offer three types of programs; Introduction, Follow-up and Specialist. We normally suggest new client’s firstly complete one of our 3-4 week Introduction programs in order to really understand our learning theory, method, style and philosophy. Then if they wish to continue they can choose from one of our Follow-up options. For details of these programs please click on Programs & other services.
Each program follows a general structure however, we never simply repeat the same program for each person. Strategy, content and methodology are adapted to provide each individual client with the specific language and instruction they require.
Assignments: All programs involve both coach and client working together on a broad variety of effective and stimulating 'Online' and 'Home' assignments. Content of these tasks is modified to specifically meet the particular language priorities of each client.
Contact meetings: All of our programs include a set number of hours of private coaching which take place in the form of contact meetings. Programs within our Personal Coaching approach offer physical, face-to-face contact meetings, whereas Online Coaching meetings are conducted on Skype.
It is very important to understand that the hours of a contact meeting do not represent the total amount of time spent by the coach working on the client's English. Coach and client also work together during the period between contact meetings. As a result, progress is determined as much by what is done outside the contact meetings, as within the hours of private coaching.
Speaking proficiency and feedback sessions (SPFs): For those clients that would like the opportunity to practice their spoken English and receive detailed and constructive feedback on their style, vocabulary/structure and overall oral delivery we offer Speaking proficiency and feedback sessions (SPFs).
