About us

We are a select, independent organization of highly-qualified (BA, CELTA, DELTA) native British instructors passionately committed to providing a truly effective, ethical and genuinely superior English language instruction service. Our approach to language acquisition is based on the the collective expertise of the very finest standards.

We each posess a minimum of 12 years experience teaching English as a foreign language, both abroad and in the UK, within an extremely diverse and frequently demanding range of high-level educational and corporate contexts. We have all taught English as a second language at some of the most prestigious universities in the UK and our background coaching clients within renowned multi-national companies is also considerably extensive. 

Of major importance, is the fact that we have all reached an advanced level of fluency in at least one foreign language. As a result, we understand language acquistion from the perspective of the learner. and know exactly what is required to speak a second language really well.

The aforementioned factors obviously posess their merit and value. However, what truly sets us apart from other organizations is the philosophy behind our service. We do not want to simply 'teach English'. We want to offer a service that empowers the learner with the knowledge to take control of their own advancement. 

It became very clear from our considerable experience within the TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) industry that most commercial language instruction services greatly prioritized profit over 'real' student progress. English Language Coaching was founded in 2005, with the aim of providing an alternative service to these popular, yet pedagogically limited systems of corporate language schools.
 
We initially worked exclusively for multi-national language recruitment agency European Vision (www.europeanvision.co.uk) in London, coaching non-native candidates applying for positions requiring an advanced level of English fluency. In 2007, we extended our service to individual clients and also increased our range of coaching options to include CAE, CPE, TOEIC and IELTS exam preparation programs. 

From 2009 onwards our corporate client-base expanded when we were contracted to coach Japanese professionals working for ANA, Mitsibishi and Mitsui in the UK. In 2010 we launched our new Online Coaching service and we currently plan to run Personal Coaching programs in Tokyo towards the end of the year.
