English Language Coaching program
Each client will be assigned their own personal English Language coach who will show you everything you need to do in order 'push' your English towards a truly advanced level. Coaching takes place face-to-face during contact hours in either the client's home or in our comfortable office space in zone 2.
During the contact hours the coach will work intensively on the clients accent, pronunciation and fluency whilst ‘naturalizing’ their word order, use of tenses and range of vocabulary.
It is very important to understand, that coaching is not the same as 'private classes'. Essentially the coach becomes the client's 'language manager' for four weeks and will work from as many angles necessary to help 'upgrade' their level. Our program involves much more than the 10 contact hours. It is about what you do in your time before and after the face-to-face meetings.
The client and coach can expect to work up to an extra 4-6 hours a week outside of the contact hours in the form of five weekly home assignments and optional extra cultural exercises. The assignments are sent via e-mail to their coach who then corrects and returns them before the next meeting.
Effort and discipline is required as completion of the weekly assignments is essential for achieving results in the contact hours.
Program duration: 4 weeks
Program content:
-10 contact hours: There are 4 X 2.5hr sessions of private coaching over a period of 4 weeks. The times and dates of the meetings are flexible and decided by you and your coach.
-5 intensive home assignments* per week: Four of the weekly assignments focus on speaking, fluency, accent reduction, pronunciation and dramatically expanding your vocabulary range. The final assignment improves your formal/ academic writing ability. In addition, there are 'extra' optional cultural assignments.
-Complete strategy for learning: Your coach will provide you with a learning plan. This will show you absolutely everything you need to do in order to speak English at a more advanced level.
-Regular contact during week: This is to maintain motivation and help student with any questions, queries, doubts or difficulties regarding their assignments or English in general. Your coach will call and e-mail you regularly to check your progress and encourage you during the week. Coaches are available for you to contact Mon-Sat from 9am-9pm.
-Assistance with finding a social context in which to practice your English: The learner needs to consider ‘living’ in English if they seriously want to speak English really well. The coach will investigate convenient options, make calls and send e-mails to help arrange a social context and give guidance and advice to those who find it difficult to ‘mix’ here.
*The focus of the assignments can be modified if client has specific requirements i.e. IELTS, Cambridge First certificate, business and academic English, formal writing, business presentations or negotiation technique etc, etc
